Hari Raya Puasa is approaching and as much as we love our favorite foods in this season, we also want to help you stay healthy through this period of feasting. As the saying goes, the right way to consume food is always in moderation and in a balanced manner. However, many of us may ask: “How much is considered moderation?”
With the following charts on how many calories each of our 8 favourite snacks hold, we hope to help you better gauge your food intake (with a little extra something to help you burn it off just in case).
According to your level of activity, you will be able to gauge what is the optimal intake for yourself
HOLD UP!
We aren’t done yet. We all love food here and wouldn’t want to see anyone suffering trying to count every single calorie. I don’t believe in calorie counting! If you are a budding chef (unlike myself) and love making these goodies, here are some easy ways to make these snacks a little bit healthier.
Pineapple Tarts: Ready to try FLAWLESS Flourless Pineapple tarts? This flourless, butterless and oil-less recipe is for you. But for those on the less adventurous side, you can always try making your own pineapple filling, controlling the sugar content and thus calorie content.
Honey Cornflakes/Chocolate Chip Cookies: Try using stevia, a natural low calorie sweetener, instead of sugar/honey.
Springrolls/Tapioca Chips: Since these two recipes require deep frying, you can use an air fryer as a replacement. This significantly reduces the oil and fat content but still keeping its crisp and delicious texture!
Happy feasting everyone!
