Festivities are always synonymous with great food, with friends and family around, and lots of celebration and happiness. While it is perfectly ok to indulge in all the amazing food that is part of the celebrations, it is essential to watch that you don’t overeat.
Happiness comes when we share so try to share the food and the gifts with those who are not so fortunate; it will give you some mental peace as well as add to your “karma score” (just kidding!) You would have made someone’s day by sharing.
Festivals mean spending time with near and dear ones, catching up with friends and relatives – spend more time doing that. Do activities together, which will help more bonding – Bond over a game of Monopoly rather than a slice of cream cake! Focus on the fun rather than the food.
With all activities going on, you are sure to find it tough to get those meals on time; stock up some healthy frozen food items or rather check out those startups that offer meal preps – cooking fresh meals was never so easy! Putting together a gourmet style dish right in the comfort of your home that is easy on the wallet as well – whoa, you hit so many birds with one stone!
Try to keep the thoughts concentrated on the time spent with family rather than food, because this time will never return and do make the most out of it!
If at all you binge on the festive food, try not to extend it to the following weeks and months – feasts are only for a special occasion, it doesn’t sound like fun to feast everyday right?
Start early on those new year resolutions right from the year end festivities so that you are able to keep up your resolution!
We at GetDoc wish all our readers a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year 2017! Ok, enough of advice, let’s dig into the food!! (just kidding, remember to eat in moderation!!!)
