Bananas are the most popular fruits worldwide. More than 106.12 million tons were harvested in 2013. Around 45% comes from South-Asia and South-East-Asia. Bananas contain lots vitamins and valuable mineral nutrients which are able to cure different kinds of health complaints, especially gastro-intestinal problems. The following six examples will show you the power of the yellow all-rounder.

Stomach ulcers are more than unpleasant and can make the food intake a quite painful torture. However, bananas are easy digestible and can be eaten without hesitation. They bring vitamins and dietary fibres and help reducing the body temperature in case of fever.

Due to their high iron content, bananas stimulate the blood cell building processes in the bone marrow. After consumption high amounts of red blood cells and haemoglobin reach into the blood circulation system. Therefore, bananas are an optimal dietary supplement for anaemia.

On the one hand bananas contain less sodium and on the other hand more potassium which both leads to positive effects on the heart-circulation system. As a result of that they can help defending from strokes and heart attacks.

Bananas are a natural anti-reflux, which can cure heartburn symptoms in short time. How? Banana actually helps to balance your stomach’s pH. It enhances the protective mucus layer of your stomach, helps relieving stomach pain.  The fiber content also moves food through your digestive tract faster – preventing reflux.

Over the long term, bananas thicken the protective mucus barrier in the stomach, preventing damage from hydrochloric acid.

Once you feel depressed, just try a banana. The contained amino acid Tryptophan gets transformed into the happiness hormone serotonin. Serotonin brings you in a better mood and creates well-being and satisfaction. Additionally, studies have shown that the vitamin B has calming effects on your nerves if you are angry or stressed.

Eaten before sports, bananas provide lots of energy through its nutrition and its easy digestibility for your training. Valuable minerals, vitamins and potassium have a positive effect on your performance as well as on your recovery process afterwards. Many sportsmen swear on the cross combination of coffee and bananas as the perfect energy supplier before sports.
